Moon Knight

Midnight Means Murder

Issue: #3

Cover date: 1981-01-31

On three consecutive nights, Moon Knight apprehends three criminals at the same time. As if that weren’t coincidence enough, each criminal has stolen a valuable item related to each other. Moon Knight vs. the Midnight Man!

Moon Knight is on the case of the Midnight Man, a cat burglar who has successfully stolen valuable antiques/relics for 23 consecutive nights and who has been taunting the police and Moon Knight via mail. With Crawley's help, Moon Knight discovers the Midnight Man is planning an ambush for him that evening. At one of Steven Grant's functions, he is approached with an offer for Marc Spector. He knows this is the bait for the ambush and gladly accepts it. He meets up and confronts Midnight Man at Anton Mogart's mansion, who is secretly the Midnight Man. They fight each other throughout the house and eventually end up on the roof where it looks like the Midnight Man gets the upper hand. Luckily for Moon Knight, Marlene shows up on the scene with a gun and shoots the Midnight Man before he can harm Moon Knight. He falls over the ledge of the roof to his death. As it turns out, Marlene's gun was filled with rubber bullets.
