Spawn has reach 200 issue and to celebrate Todd has invited many old friends to contribute variant covers: Jim Lee, David Finch and Ashley Wood to name a few.
Besides the variant covers, this is an over-sized comic with over 50 pages of content with only 3 ads at the very end of the comic, to not interrupt the story.
Issue #200 is a huge moment for the Spawn series because it is meant to officially close the door on the Al Simmons Chapter of Spawn. Changing gears to the new host of Spawn Jim Downing, Spawn as a series is both visually changing after issue 200 and in the way it is written. New interior artist Szymon Kudranski is given the final story page to transition to the new look Spawn is heading too.
As the Al Simmons door closes Jim Downing is introduced to new readers. Being a milestone issue, the creative team decided to use this issue as a grand opening, if you will, to the New Spawn in town. The key players as well are all addressed: from Clown to The Omega, the Spawn universe was explored in this issue.
